The fee for administering and documenting an influenza vaccination rises to €11.00. This is accompanied by €0.99 for consumables and write-off risk and a statutory €1.00 procurement fee. The service total is therefore €12.99 per vaccination, before adding the vaccine actually used.

When a pre-filled syringe is taken from a multipack, code 02567053 must also be supplied. The product code must identify the vaccine actually administered. Pharmacy software, pack sizes and the 2026/2027 vaccine list should therefore be checked before the first appointment.
COVID-19 vaccination: €13.73 with federally procured vaccine
The main service for a COVID-19 vaccination from a multidose vial procured by the federal government is €13.58. A further €0.15 covers consumables, producing a service total of €13.73.

The electronic record contains the real PZN and, where available, batch data, but prices the federally procured vaccine at €0.00. Separate rules continue to apply to that vaccine supply. Pharmacies should wait for the specific billing update before using commercially supplied single-dose presentations.
Statutory insurance: electronic billing is mandatory
Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations for statutory-insurance patients have been billed exclusively electronically since 1 April 2025. The influenza rules apply to standard benefits and to benefits offered under an individual insurer's statutes. The latter use code 17717363 for the €11.00 main service. Eligibility and the applicable route should be checked before booking.
Private insurance and self-pay patients
Privately insured and self-paying patients pay the pharmacy and receive a priced paper form for possible reimbursement. Whether the insurer reimburses the expense is a matter for the patient to establish. The pharmacy process must correctly capture patient and payer details, date, pharmacy identifier, codes, total and the vaccinator's signature.
A fee is not the same as contribution margin
